Corporation des pilotes du Saint-Laurent central announces the appointment of its new Executive Director

Trois-Rivières, June 30, 2026 – The Corporation des pilotes du Saint-Laurent central (CPSLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Louis Maltais as its new Executive Director.

Mr. Maltais joins the Corporation with extensive experience in the maritime sector and recognized expertise in navigation, hydrography, and strategic management. During his career with the Canadian Hydrographic Service, he notably served as Director of Geospatial Services for Navigation and Support, where he played a key role in advancing navigation services and modernizing tools designed to enhance maritime safety in Canada.

His career, distinguished by leadership, innovation, and collaboration with numerous partners across the maritime industry, will be a significant asset to the Corporation of Central St. Lawrence Pilots.

As he assumes his new role, Mr. Maltais will oversee the Corporation’s operations and continue the work accomplished in recent years to address the current and future challenges of maritime pilotage on the St. Lawrence River. He will work closely with the pilots, employees, the Laurentian Pilotage Authority, port authorities, and all industry partners.

The Corporation also wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Mr. Jean-Denis Girard for his commitment and dedication as Executive Director. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to the organization’s development and to the advancement of numerous strategic initiatives. The members of the Board of Directors, the pilots, and the employees extend their heartfelt gratitude and wish him every success in his future endeavors.
